Introduction
I'm a 54 year old who likes to hike and camp. My wife and kids either hate the out doors or are in class, so it is just me and my gear!!!
Please relate, in general terms, your backpacking experience.
I like to backpack and have the gear but I'm only good for about ten miles at a time. That's actual carrying a pack. Back problems.
What was your favorite backpacking experience?
Smokey Mountains like Springer bear shelter, Red River gorge , Out with Scouts, and all over out west in Arizona and Utah.
What was your funniest backpacking moment?
I was in Tucson, Az and came out of my tent when I noticed some black blobs that seemed to be moving on the ground, The more I watched I realized they were getting bigger and they were taranchulas .
What was your most embarrassing backpacking moment?
Trying to hang a bear bag- much harder than it looks.
What's the longest backpacking trip you've ever taken? (in mileage and/or days)
3 days average.
