Introduction

Hello All - My backpacking experiences are basically all from Michigan. I'd like to adventure west a little more and a little more south east.

Please relate, in general terms, your backpacking experience.

Generally weekend trips.

What was your favorite backpacking experience?

Jordan River Pathway up in Michigan.

What was your funniest backpacking moment?

Thinking we had set our campsite on fire to only find it was the reflection of the setting sun. Your mind is a great fertilizer of ideas once their planted!

What was your most embarrassing backpacking moment?

What's the longest backpacking trip you've ever taken? (in mileage and/or days)

14 miles with fully loaded pack, through marshy swamplands, in one day...only to get our spotted car and head to the party store!

The issue of using ones paddle upside down has been addressed.
The engineering design, and correct operation of a paddle has been explained to the layman.
